School of Science Internship Program
The School of Science is taking an active role in establishing partnerships with renowned companies in various sectors to create more opportunities. Outstanding participants will be nominated to our partners for recruitment purposes, no matter for their internship programs or graduate positions.
 
This program is exclusively for Science Students. Priority will be given to penultimate and final year students who need more hands-on experience.
 
 
 
HKUST-CERN Summer Student Program
The HKUST-CERN Summer Student program is designed for HKUST undergraduate students who have strong interests in high energy physics. Every year, two outstanding students are selected by the program committee of the Physics Department, based on their academic records. Program participants will be provided opportunities to engage in experiments in the area of high energy physics at CERN and to involve in research projects conducted at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, in Geneva, Switzerland.  
 
If you are interested in this program, please
 
(1) submit an on-line application via the link (to be opened nearer the time) below before the deadline. Deadline is usually in late January each year.
 
 
(2) send a COPY of you online application to Prof Tao Liu via email (taoliu@ust.hk), along with your most recent transcript, CV and a short statement explaining why you are interested in this programme (max. 1 page). Interviews will be arranged for shortlisted applicants in February each year by the program committee.
 
After completing the program, participants are required to submit a progress report about their summer research at CERN within one month after returning to Hong Kong.
