After his undergraduate study at HKUST in 2003, Prof. Law did his graduate work at Brown University and received PhD in 2008. After spending one year as a joint postdoc fellow of HKUST-IAS and MIT, he moved to MIT in 2009. He joined HKUST physics department in 2011. Prof. Law is one the founding members and currenlty serving as the President of The Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences.

Prof Law received the School of Science Research Award in 2014.
Research Areas
Condensed matter theory of strongly correlated systems and on topological phases, particularly on fractional quantum Hall states, topological insulators and topological superconductors
